Clergy

Rector – The Revd Timothy Bennison

Tim was installed as Rector of Holy Trinity Dunfermline and St Margaret’s in September 2008. Originally from Yorkshire, Tim came to Scotland in 1990. A graduate of Aberdeen University, he trained with the Theological Institute of the Scottish Episcopal Church and worked in the Aberdeen and Brechin Dioceses before coming to us. He is married to Hilary and has two grown-up daughters. You’ll find his blog at this link.

Retired Assistant Priest – The Revd Ross Kennedy

After working for some 23 years in the NHS and pharmaceutical industry, Ross trained for the ordained ministry at Coates Hall and New College, Edinburgh, and served the whole of his full-time ministry in the Church of England in the Diocese of Newcastle. On retirement in 2005, Ross returned to his home town of Dunfermline where he has been privileged to serve the congregations of Holy Trinity and St Margaret’s, Rosyth as our honorary assistant priest.

Vestry

The responsibility of running the church resides jointly with the Rector and the Vestry, who work closely together.

The Vestry is a volunteer body elected by the church members at the annual general meeting, held in November. They are also the Trustees of the church.

The Vestry consists of:

Chairman – The Rector

Secretary – Sandra Young

Treasurer – Alan Taylor, who is also the Lay Representative

Members – Sue Forman, Mary Kidd, Myra Tarr, Marc Templehoff and Lesley Yellowlees

Methodist representative – Howard Kirby

Two Vestry members represent St Margaret’s on the Methodist Property Committee.

Vestry and the Methodist Council meet jointly twice a year.

Lay Ministry

A Local Shared Ministry team leads the Evening Worship on the 4th Sunday of the month, and also administers communion from the reserved sacrament when the clergy are unavailable.

Some members of the team assist in administering Methodist communion during the joint service, while others are part of the Methodist communion stewards’ team.
